The health of Australia’s prisoners 2012

The objective of this report by the Australian Insitute of Health and Welfare is to inform on the planning, delivery, and quality of prisoner health services. Among the main findings have been the significant health issues, with high rates of mental health problems, communicable diseases, alcohol misuse, smoking and illicit drug use; as well as a comparatively higher prevalence on aboriginal populations.
