OSI makes drug policy publications available in five languages

24 June 2010

While many of us have easy access to relevant drug policy publications, they are almost non-existent in major languages other than English. For this reason, with the help of leading drug policy experts, the Open Society Institute's Global Drug Policy Program (GDPp) has selected five articles and had them translated into Chinese, Farsi, French and Russian.

The first in the series, "Legislating for Health and Human Rights: Model Law on Drug Use and HIV/AIDS", was published by the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network and presents a model law resource designed to inform and assist policy-makers and advocates as they approach the task of reforming or making laws to meet the legal challenges posed by the HIV epidemic among people who use drugs. The original publication and translations are accessible here.

The second publicaton - “Five Policy Principles” - was produced by the International Drug Policy Consortium and is designed to inform and assist policy makers and advocates as they approach the task of reforming laws addressing the HIV epidemic among people who use drugs. The original publication and translations are accessible here.

The remaining three documents in the series will soon be published on the GDPp website.
