Experts discuss role of drug policy in the HIV, hepatitis and TB epidemics

As part of the 7th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2013) this week in Kuala Lumpur; the Global Commission on Drug Policy and the International AIDS Society co-sponsored a High Level Panel on Drug Policy and Public Health, focusing on the situation in Malaysia. Following two sessions, experts from several fields find consensus on a shift from prohibition to public health in order to reduce harms to individuals and societies, including fueling the spread of HIV, hepatitis and tuberculosis.
