XLV Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS)
The XLV Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) will be held on June 15-16, 2015 at the Headquarters of the OAS in Washington, DC, USA.
In accordance with article 10 of the OAS General Assembly Rules of Procedure, representatives of nongovernmental organizations may attend the General Assembly as special guests with the authorization of the Permanent Council and the consent of the government of the country in which the Assembly session will be held.
In this sense, civil society organizations registered with the OAS that would like to attend this event should send a letter addressed to the OAS Secretary General, expressing their wish to attend the OAS General Assembly, along with the names of the representatives of the organization that will attend (maximum of 2).
Civil society organizations that are not registered with the OAS and would like to attend the XLIV Regular Session of the OAS General Assembly should send the following documents of your organization:
- Letter addressed to the OAS Secretary General, expressing their wish to attend the OAS General Assembly along with the names of the representatives of the organization that will attend the event (maximum of 2)
- Constitution
- Statutes
- Mission statement
- Most recent annual report of activities
The application to attend to the XLV Regular Session of the OAS General Assembly should be sent to the Department of International Affairs of the OAS no later than Monday, April 27, 2015 at 5:30pm by email to civilsociety@oas.org. This deadline is necessary to allow the General Secretariat of the OAS sufficient time to submit a final list of civil society organizations to the OAS Permanent Council for its consideration at least 30 days prior to the opening of the OAS General Assembly.
